FROGGY STARS - 13.03.26
STRIVE -TEAM - AMBITION - RESILIENCE = SUCCESS
Firstly, thank you for your fantastic support with our after‑school cake sale to raise funds for the children’s leavers’ events. It has been wonderful to see our children and families working together to create a memorable send‑off, with activities ranging from bike rides to Swimathons and more. If you are able to support any of these events, further details can be found on our Flowery Friends Community page. All money raised will help provide a leavers’ hoody for every child and add special touches to the celebrations planned in school.
We would also like to thank families for supporting the Flowery Friends ‘Mothers and Others’ stall. We know how important it is for children to recognise the special people in their lives.
Following International Women’s Day, our assemblies this week have focused on inspirational women who changed the world. Children explored how people were treated in the past and the actions taken to bring about positive change. We were especially proud of our older pupils, who listened with great maturity to the story of Malala Yousafzai.
As we prepare for next Friday’s Red Nose Day, classes have been busy discussing ideas as part of our Oracy work. The children came up with a huge range of suggestions, and we have narrowed these down to the most popular choices across school. We will be taking part in: • Dress in Red • Red Nose Day Hunt • Creating a Class Joke Book Our House of Froggy has also chosen a family challenge: Teacher Cakes. As always, these activities are optional, but we would love to see as many children as possible joining in to help raise money for Red Nose Day. Donations can be made via the link: Flowery Field is fundraising for Comic Relief.
Next Friday, we will also be collecting chocolate donations for our Easter events. Last year’s generosity allowed us to run a fantastic Easter raffle alongside the ever‑popular Flowery Friends Easter Egg Bingo.
A reminder that Parents’ Evening will take place on Wednesday 25th March. During your appointment, teachers will share your child’s progress and discuss how you can support their next steps in learning. We are extremely proud of everything they have achieved this term. As these meetings take place over the telephone, please ensure your contact details are up to date in the MCAS app. If you need help accessing the app or booking an appointment, please contact admin@floweryfieldschool.org.uk. Appointments can be booked from 4pm today. Please note that Nursery and Reception meetings will take place in person.
As we approach the end of Ramadan, we would like to reflect on the kindness shown throughout our community. We wish all those celebrating next week a warm Eid Mubarak. As always, we will celebrate together on Monday 23rd March. Children are welcome to wear their celebration clothes and enjoy a range of games and tasty treats. If your child is bringing food to share, please ensure their class teacher is aware of any allergen information.
Finally, we would like to wish all our mums, carers and others, a very happy Mother’s Day!
Thank you for everything you do — today and every day.
Wishing you a lovely weekend
Mrs Silk
