Thank you for all your support with our world book day events, we were once again overwhelmed by the enthusiasm shown by our community. Across school children had the opportunity to participate in a range of creative events, demonstrating their love of books. We loved seeing the children’s costumes too, which provided us with lots of opportunities to revisit our prior learning throughout the day. Special mention to those families that visited our Flowery Book Fair, your support has enabled us to purchase a range of books to add to our class libraries.

As we celebrate World Book Day, we are pleased to announce that Mr Atkinson and Mrs Vo Mullin have secured funding to create a new library within school. Children across school have worked together to help design our library, selecting their favourite authors, book series and genres. We hope that this project will inspire many of our pupils, encouraging them to read more widely, We know how important reading is to unlocking potential and encourage you to share books at home as often as possible.

Following on from the success of our trips earlier in the year, Y6 have been out and about, visiting the Bridgewater Hall to experience the delights of the Halle Orchestra. Y6 pupils loved joining the orchestra for a rendition of ‘Mowana. We have further trips planned for other year groups later in the year.

Last week, our Flowery Friends team met to plan our future events. Unfortunately, due to limited support, we have taken the difficult decision to limit our events to one a term. Unfortunately, we will be unable to run our Mothers’ Day Craft event but will be having stall selling affordable gifts after school on Wednesday. Our next event will be Easter Egg Bingo that takes place on Thursday 26th March 3 30-5pm. This is a popular event with limited tickets available through Pembee. Tickets go on sale at 7pm on Monday 9th April. Please register ahead of the sale at Flowery Field PTFA.

Finally, we would like to congratulate our ‘Game Changers’ who led a range of football events across school to promote girl’s football. Many children commented that they had never played football before. It was great see the way our football team encouraged and supported other pupils, sharing their passion and commitment, inspiring others to get involved.

Wishing you all a lovely weekend.

Kind regards

Mrs Silk

School Meals

Our new Spring/Summer menu is now available within the My Child at School App. We have asked us to remind all families to ensure all school meals are booked through the app. Unfortunately, we are seeing an increase in food waste and lack of availability of food. It is essential that all families secure their child’s meal through the app. Please contact the office if you need support with this.
