Curriculum Aim
We offer a high-quality languages education that fosters pupils’ curiosity and deepens their understanding of the world. Our curriculum offer enables pupils to express their ideas and thoughts in another language and to understand and respond to its speakers, both verbally and in writing. It provides opportunities for pupils to communicate for practical purpose and learn new ways of thinking. Our language teaching provides the foundation for learning further languages and equips pupils to study and work in other countries.
Our curriculum offer ensures that all pupils:
- understand and respond to spoken and written language
- speak with increasing confidence, fluency and spontaneity, finding ways of communicating what they want to say, including through discussion and asking questions, and continually improving the accuracy of their pronunciation and intonation
- can write using grammatical and lexical structures that they have learned
