What a great start to the new term!
Many thanks to all those families that attended our reception celebration event. Our children loved sharing their learning from last half term. Sharing their favourite songs and joining in our Ugly Bug parade. We are extremely grateful to our families who worked together to create some fantastic costumes! This half term we are focusing on consolidating our learning from across the year and will be inviting families into our celebration assemblies to showcase our learning. Likewise, families are invited to our annual sports events. Please see details below
During our assemblies, we are currently focusing on ambition, we have already welcomed a few visitors in who have spoken of the work they do, linking to our school values of Striving, Teamwork, Ambition and Resilience. Our children have loved these visits and are keen to find out more about the world around them. If you would like to share your own experiences to inspire our future generations please speak with the office.
As we approach the end of the school year, we are currently preparing for our transition events which will take place over the next few weeks. I would like to take this opportunity to announce the retirement of Mrs Glozier who has made a huge difference to so many lives at Flowery, she is a huge part of what makes Flowery special and will be missed by us all! I know you would all like to join me in thanking her for her dedication and commitment.
Special mention to our Flowery Friends team who have supported our annual Father’s’ Day Craft events. The children are proud of their creations and look forward to sharing them with their families. Following the success of this event, our Flowery Friends’ team are busy planning our final summer event, Taylorfest! This event takes place on Wednesday 18th June, with proceeds going towards our new Forest School Development. We are extremely grateful to our amazing team of volunteers who put on these events but are in desperate need of new volunteers due to the increasing number of children attending these events. If you are able to support this or future events please email floweryfriends @floweryfield.tameside.sch.uk,
Finally, we would like to wish our cheerleaders good luck as they participate in the National School’s Cheerleading competition. This is an amazing opportunity for our young people who have worked extremely hard over the last few months to learn and polish their routine. They have already showcased their routine to others within school who were mesmerised by their performance.
Wishing you all a relaxing and enjoyable weekend.
Mrs Silk
Important Reminder
Our Summer Inset Day will now take place on Fridy 11th July 2025 to facilitate our Y4 and 5 residentials. Please speak with the office team asap if this impacts any family holidays you may have planned.
Uniform
As we prepare for the new school year, please can we remind all parents of expectations regarding uniform All children are required to adhere to our uniform policy, which includes school shoes. We have noticed an increase in children wearing expensive items to school, these are not permitted. Please can we also remind parents that hoodies should only be worn on PE days, as this forms part of our PE kit, not our school uniform. Details of our uniform can be found on our website: School Uniform | Flowery Field Primary School
Wrap around Provision
Due to the number of families requiring wrap around provision, we are looking at extending our provision further in September. Please speak to the office if you require places with either before or after school for the new school year. We are offering families, a complimentary trial session during the summer term. Please book this through the office.
