Firstly, I would like to thank you for your support with our VE Day celebrations! We are immensely proud to of a diverse community who have come together as a day of celebration and remembrance. The children looked amazing in their costumes and enjoyed the wealth of activities on offer, enabling them to experience life in 1940’s Britain.  Special mention to the North West Military Vehicle Association, Tameside Music Service and our Marple Singers for adding the finishing touches to our event.  It is our intention that these workshops and celebrations will create powerful lasting memories for our children that will remain with them into adulthood.

We know that our day of celebration reminds us of the importance of working together as a community to instil a sense of pride, respect and tolerance helping to shape the future for our young people.  This aligns with the British values that we inspire in our children from nursery all the way through to year 6. Likewise these activities have reinforced our key values of Striving, Teamwork, Ambition and Resilience.

During our final term, we will be supporting our children in finding out more about the world around them.  We are looking for parents who would be willing to come in and speak to our children about the important jobs you do in and around our community.  Please feel free to come and speak with myself or Mr Smith if this is something you feel you can help with.

Finally, we would like to wish our Year 6 pupils well with their SATs, alongside other year groups who will also be completing assessments within school.  We would like to take this opportunity to remind you that these assessments only capture a small snapshot of your child’s learning, they do not reflect their level of determination, excellent learning attitudes and wider achievements.  We are extremely proud of all our children and know they will continue to experience success, as they move through school and transition to high school. We would encourage you to use the weekend to reflect on the progress your child has made and remind them of how amazing they truly are.

Wishing you all a relaxing and enjoyable weekend

Mrs Silk

Dinner Money

Please can we remind all families to order meals through the MCAS app, as all dinners must be ordered and paid for in advance.  Unfortunately, you will be unable to select your child’s meals if there is an outstanding balance.  Please speak to the office if you need support in clearing outstanding balances.

Help Needed – Lila’s Light

Paul Smith and one of our PGCE trainees, Jacob Ridley, are running the Manchester Half Marathon on 18th May.  They will be doing this to help raise money for Lila's Light.

Please can we ask families to consider making a donation towards Lila's Light to enable her legacy to continue to sparkle.
