Welcome back!

What a great start to the new term.  This term we will be making the most of the beautiful weather as we begin our science topics. Our youngest pupils will be exploring living things and their habitats, whilst our older pupils are looking at what living things need to survive.  Check out this week’s learning on our Twitter feed or school website.

On Wednesday, our Flowery Friends team hosted our Eid event.  It was great to see so many families attending, the children loved the different activities on offer and the tasty treats went down well. Special mention to our team of volunteers who cooked, prepared and helped make sure the event ran smoothly. We are also extremely grateful to the local businesses who supported this event.

Our next event is our VE day celebrations which take place on Thursday 8th May 2025, marking 80 years since the end of the second World War.  We have lots of events planned, including war time games, brass band, military vehicles, brass band, a street party and much more!  We are asking for a £1 donation to support these activities.  We will be having a themed lunch to mark the occasion which can be ordered from Monday. Alternatively, children can bring their own packed lunch to join their friends at the street party! If anyone has any ideas or would like to get involved in this event please speak with a member of our office team.

Booking for our after-school clubs opens on Monday at 3 30pm.  This term we are pleased to announce that we have a few clubs for our reception children, this includes story time with Mrs Vo and Smile time (Mindfulness) with our reception team.  We will continue to offer breakfast provision for all children throughout the summer term.  All children are able to attend from 8 30 where they will be offered a complimentary breakfast.  Flowery Fun is available for children who need to attend outside of these hours.

Finally, I would like to thank all those parents who donated and purchased cakes from our after-school bake sale.  We have raised a phenomenal £240 which will be used to support our cheer team who will be competing at the Nationals in June!  Special mention to Ms Lawton and the cheer team who have been practising and polishing their routines. We can’t wait to see your final routine!

Wishing you a lovely and relaxing weekend

Mrs Silk
