7.02.25
Firstly, I would like to thank those that attended our Flowery Friends EGM on Wednesday. We are pleased to announce that Rachel K has agreed to take up the chair position, with further parents signing up to the committee. We look forward to working alongside the new committee to create affordable opportunities for families and strengthen relationships within our community. The next meeting of the committee takes place on Wednesday 5th March at 4pm and is open to all members of our community. We will be finalising plans for our Mother’s Day Crafts and Eid events.
This week has been children’s mental health week in school, classes have completed a range of activities to raise awareness, ensuring all our children are able to talk about their feelings and know where they can get help. Please encourage the children to talk through their feelings at home. Our pastoral team continue to offer support before school and throughout the school day. They offer a drop in during unstructured times to ensure support is readily available.
This week our Twitter feed has been full of great learning across school, both Y3 and 5 have produced some excellent poetry whilst Y6 have finally completed and published their websites. We have had an invasion of pirates within reception, with the children searching for their treasured tricky words! Outside of the curriculum, we have hosted Tameside school’s Dodgeball competition. We are extremely proud of our Y5 and 6 pupils who showed great sportsmanship throughout the event and came out victorious!
As we approach half term, we would like to remind families that if they are in receipt of universal credit they may be entitled to support during the holiday period. Tameside Council have agreed to provide support to all families in receipt of benefit related free school meals. These will be issued out from early next week. Likewise, if there are any families who are not entitled but require support at this time please speak to a member of
Finally, we would like to thank families for joining in our Y6 Wonderlicious Fundraiser, the team are extremely grateful for your generosity which will be used to fund the Y6 hoodies and their end of year party! Chocolate bars can be collected after school from Tuesday 11th February.
Wishing you a lovely and relaxing weekend
