Another great week in school!
Firstly, I would like to thank those families who supported our Jeans for Genes event. We have been overwhelmed by the generosity shown by our community in providing much needed support. We have raised £388 in school which will be added to our Just Giving Page, giving us a grand total of £438. Next week, we will be following on today’s success with an after-school sale in aid of the floods in Bangladesh. We are extremely grateful to the families that have agreed to cook up some tasty treats to raise money for this important cause. Many of our children and their wider families have been affected by the recent flooding. All money raised will go directly to those in need. If anyone would like to donate food items to add to the stall please send them into school on Friday.
This week we have welcomed lots of visitors into school. They have been impressed with the children’s attitudes to learning, demonstrating our school motto “Only My Best is Good Enough!” We have seen great learning in all areas of school.
This week, we have also launched our after-school clubs within school. It is great to see how many children accessing this provision. Attendance is regularly reviewed, places offered to those on the waiting list for non-attendance. Please can we remind families that wish to access our breakfast provision to use the hall doors from 8 30. This provision is now available to all children on a drop-in basis. We also have a few places remaining at our wraparound provision ‘Flowery Fun’. This provision is available between 7 30 and 5 30. Please speak to the office if you require more information.
Following requests from parents we have managed to source private music lessons; these can take place either within the school day or after school. All lessons need to be booked and paid for through the following link: https://uktameside.speedadmin.dk/registration#/
We already have pupils learning the piano and guitar. We hope to increase the number of pupils over the next few weeks. If anyone would like to try out these sessions prior to signing up please speak to Mr Barton or Mrs Silk.
We are currently reviewing the allergies we have in school, due to the severe allergies we have in school, nuts are not permitted on site. All children within KS1 are provided with fruit through the fruit in schools scheme, children in KS2 are able to bring fruit from home. Other snacks are not permitted. All children are asked to bring a water bottle into school as they are encouraged to drink water throughout the day.
