What an amazing response!
Firstly, I would like to thank our school community for their amazing response to our emergency appeal to support children affected by the conflict in Gaza. We have raised an incredible £1338.29. This is an unprecedented amount, providing much needed aid to those in need. We have been touched by the children’s kindness in donating their much-loved toys and books to help others. We will be forwarding your generous donations to the Emergency Gaza appeal through Save the Children. https://www.savethechildren.org.uk/how-you-can-help/emergencies/gaza-emergency-appeal
As you are aware, our children love learning outdoors. We are currently working with OPAL (Outdoor play and learning) to increase opportunities for our children to make use of our outdoor space. We are asking all families to ensure children have access to a waterproof coat and wellies. We have had some new storage fitted outside the Y2 classrooms. Please can we ask that KS1 children bring these in a carrier bag marked with their names. KS2 children should place their wellies in the new storage area, ensuring these are marked with their name and class. This will enable the children to access our outdoor activities in all weathers! In the event of inclement weather, an indoor option will be provided.
In our assemblies next week, we will be focusing on what makes a good friend. On Monday we will be marking the start of our anti-bullying week with odd socks! We are encouraging children to wear odds socks to remind them of our unique qualities. The key message for this year is ‘make a noise about bullying!’ We will be helping our children to recognise what bullying is, ensuring they know where they can get help and what they can do to help others.
Wishing you an enjoyable and relaxing weekend
Mrs Claire Silk

IMPORTANT – Online Safety
Whatever the age of your child they will receive good online safety education in school, from early years through to college. But as parents and carers we want so support you in providing information about the risks and issues our children may face online.
We have obtained resources from Alan Mackenzie who specialises in the ever-changing and evolving area of online safety.
This week the focus is on online gaming. We are aware that a large number of children play games to socialise with others, however for some children games help them escape and can be used as a coping mechanism. Click on the video to find out more: https://vimeo.com/847060817/685f552bc6?share=copy
