Week – 29.09.23

 

Another great week in school!

 

We are extremely proud of the way the children continue to embrace the challenges of our curriculum.  In our assemblies we have been focusing on recognising and managing our emotions.  The children have all met the colour monster and discussed the importance of letting others know how you are feeling.  We have explored different ways of feeling calm and what we can do to help us feel happy!

 

Within our learning, we have had a focus on Maths. We have been extremely impressed with the children’s learning behaviours and the calm, purposeful learning taking place across school.  We looked at the teaching of Maths across school, ensuring focusing on consistency throughout school.  Our children spoke confidently about the way Maths is taught and were keen to share their learning.  It was great to see our younger people verbalising their learning through their work on pattern and size, whilst our older pupils tackled more formal written methods. We have now appointed our pupil leadership teams.  Our playleaders have led a range of games for our younger pupils, ensuring everyone feels included, whilst our farm team have welcomed back the animals. Our nursery pupils have loved getting to know our animals, especially our two new guinea pigs.  We would like to invite all families to visit our school farm before or after school.  Our animals love tasty treats such as fruit and vegetables.  Special mention to Mr Fell, Mrs Bird, Mrs Marden and Mrs Gillworth who helped transport the animals back to Flowery!

 

Finally, we have a special visitor joining us for lunch on Thursday, Froggy!  The children have selected their favourite dishes for the menu, which includes Halal Burgers, Nuggets, Ice Cream and a special Froggy Biscuit.  All children, including our 30 hour nursery children, are welcome to sample a school dinner on this day.  Please book in the MCAS app or phone the school office.
