FROGGY STARS - STRIVE -TEAM - AMBITION - RESILIENCE = SUCCESS
Spring Term Week – 28.04.23
Many thanks to all those who joined in our events this week in school!
Our after school cake sale for National Schools Cheer and Dance competition was also a success. We are extremely grateful for those fmilies2. Our children are really looking forward to taking part and have been working hard on their routines. Our team will be holding a guess the name of teddy and sweet competition next week before school. There will also be a final chance to buy raffle tickets on Wednesday and Thursday morning. The winners will be announced on Friday.
It was lovely to be able to celebrate Eid in school on Monday. The children shared their experiences in our assemblies and had class celebrations to mark this occasion. Our family event was also a great success, with many families coming to a Flowery Friends’ event for the first time. We are always looking at ways to strengthen our community and would love to host further events that represent our diverse community. If anyone has any ideas please speak to a member of our pastoral team or attend our next Flowery Friend meeting on Monday 22nd May at 6pm.
Our science learning has continued with children continuing to explore a range of plants and animals within our school environment, carrying out experiments and observing changes over time. Within EYFS, the children have welcomed the arrival of 4 baby chicks. The children have loved watching the way they have changed over the last week.
Next Friday, we are inviting children to wear, red, white or blue to mark the Coronation of King Charles. We have been learning a special Coronation song with Mr G and will be having a street party themed lunch! Payment needs to be made through the app. Please note there will be no charge for children in KS1 or those entitled to a benefit related school meal. We are aware that many children are entitled to a free school meal but prefer to bring sandwiches. With the rise in living costs, I would encourage all families to check out if they are eligible.
Finally, we would like to thank Ms Penney for her support in our kitchen and wish her all the best for her maternity leave. We are looking forward to welcoming a new member of our Flowery family soon.
Wishing you all a relaxing and enjoyable bank holiday weekend
Mrs Silk
IMPORTANT REMINDER – INDUSTRIAL ACTION
The NEU have announced further industrial action on Tuesday 2nd May. Unfortunately, due to the number of staff striking, I am unable to open safely so will be operating a remote learning offer to the majority of children.
IMPORTANT NOTICE – HEALTH AND SAFETY
Due to the limited number of disabled bays, 2 are reserved for children who are non-mobile. It is essential that we ensure these children have access to these spaces due to the dropped curb and the additional equipment they require.
Please can we ask other disabled users to be mindful of this when parking on the school site. Our pastoral team are on hand to provide support with drop off and pick up.
