FROGGY STARS - STRIVE -TEAM - AMBITION - RESILIENCE = SUCCESS
Summer Term – Week 4 20.05.22
Many thanks for your generous donations for our Teddy Tombola. Our Y6 farm team are extremely grateful for your support. Our farm team will be running out tombola before and after school on Monday, 5 tickets cost 50p. We will also have a name the bear competition too! All donations will go towards the upkeep of the school farm. Thank you for your support.
This week we have had the opportunity to visit schools across the Trust. We have loved sharing our children’s learning, as we are extremely proud of their achievements. We have seen a huge improvement in the work of those children accessing before school provision and the children who regularly complete their home learning tasks. Thank you for your continued support. As we approach the final half term, teachers are currently making end of year assessments and identifying areas for improvement. These will be shared with parents through the end of year reports. If you have any concerns about your child’s progress, please phone school and arrange to speak with one of our assistant head teachers, Mrs Pearson (EYFS and Key Stage 1) or Mr Greenaway (Key Stage 2). Mr Smith, our Deputy Head, is also available before or after school to answer any questions you may have.
We are extremely proud of our Y2 children who have embraced the challenges of their Y2 SATs. Despite the disruptions over the last couple of years, their learning attitudes, resilience and determination to succeed stands out! Special mention to the Y2 team who have ensured the children have had lots of fun too! Well done to you all!
Last weekend, our farm animals had their annual health checks, our visitors were extremely impressed with our facilities and the care the animals received. We are extremely grateful to the staff and pupils who continue to support our school farm. We are currently looking for homes for the chickens and rabbits over the summer holiday, if you can help please speak to Mrs Mercer, Mrs Marsden or myself. The larger animals will be going on holiday to Garden House Farm at Marple Bridge. Families are welcome to visit them over the break.
We are really looking forward to our summer events, the first takes place on Friday 27th May. All children will be attending our own street party! All children receiving a school dinner, will have a buffet lunch on this day, followed by ice cream and jelly. Children are welcome to bring their own lunch if they would prefer. We would like all children to wear red, white and blue, to mark this historic occasion. Although we have other events planned for the summer term, we are excited to announce that we will be holding a summer fayre on Sunday 17th July. We are extremely grateful to the Flowery Friends team who are working hard to plan this event but are in urgent need of further parental support to ensure it is a success. Please speak with Mrs Jeffers, Mrs Smith or myself if you can help.
Wishing all our families a relaxing and enjoyable weekend.
Mrs Silk

We continue to explore our own thoughts and feelings as part of our topic: Valuing difference, Find this week’s activity below:
Activity 4 – Acts of Kindness
Being kind to other people helps them to feel good and it makes us feel good, too! You might have noticed sometimes, when you’ve done something kind for someone - perhaps helped them or paid them a compliment - you might have felt good inside.
Some people call it a ‘warm, fuzzy’ feeling. Well, that good feeling comes from chemicals that our brains make and it’s good for our health to feel that way.
Have a think about some ways that you can help other people. Draw or write them down and place them in a kindness jar.
