Summer Term – Week 1 29.04.22
What a great start to the summer term!
It has been lovely to have the children back in school, making the most of the beautiful weather and enjoying time with their friends.
Our new learning, makes the most of our environment, with many year groups focusing on living things. The children are exploring a range of plants and animals, carrying out experiment and observing changes over time. We have had an exciting delivery on our school farm, with special deliveries to our EYFS and Y5 classrooms too! We are hoping to have some news soon!
Next week sees the launch of our summer after school clubs, we are extremely grateful to the staff who have volunteered to run this provision. It is great to see new clubs such as Knitting, Film Club, Basketball and Rounders! Places are limited and need to booked through the MCAS App. Places are confirmed once booked through the app. Our before school club continues to be well attended, ensuring children have those extra opportunities to experience success.
During our assemblies this week, we followed up our work on Ramadan and spoke of the upcoming Eid celebrations. Many of our children have spoken of the good deeds they have completed, helping others within the community, supporting their families and giving to charity. It’s great to see so many children striving to make a difference. As many of our families will be celebrating Eid over the weekend, we would like all our children to join these celebrations. On Tuesday we are inviting all children to come to school in their special clothes to enable us to celebrate together.
As we start the new term, please can we ask all families to order their child’s meals for this term. We are aware that many children are entitled to a free school meal but prefer to bring sandwiches. With the rise in living costs, I would encourage all families to check out the new menus on the school website and see if you are entitled. The children love the new menu choices, especially the pizza, wedges and Ice cream!
Finally, I would like to wish all those families celebrating this weekend, Eid Mubarak! May you enjoy this very special celebration with your friends and family.
Wishing all our families a relaxing and enjoyable bank holiday weekend.
