Spring Term Week 13 – 8.04.22

Over the past week we have enjoyed celebrating a range of different events in school. Our children have been keen to share their personal experiences of Easter and Ramadan as part of these celebrations.

We are extremely grateful to our Flowery Friends team who go above and beyond to provide events for the community to enjoy, Easter Egg Bingo was a huge success, it was great to see families enjoying themselves and leaving with a smile.  The team are keen to plan a summer event that reflects the interests of our school community. If you feel able to contribute to the planning of this event please attend our next meeting on Wednesday May 4th.  Many thanks to all of our families who continue to support our events.  It has been lovely to see children creating things at home and sharing them with their classes.  The nursery children loved visiting all the classes to show their creations.

Our assemblies this week have focused on Ramadan which started last weekend.  We have shared the importance of this time of year with all our children.  The children have been keen to share how they celebrate Ramadan through prayer, charity and fasting. We have looked at the importance of kindness and discussed good deeds we can carry out during Ramadan.  Please feel free to share these good deeds on our Facebook pages over the Easter holidays, we will be sharing these after the holidays, as we build up towards Eid.  As in previous years, all children will be celebrating Eid as a reward for their acts of kindness.

As we prepare for the new term, please can we remind parents of the importance of wearing full school uniform.  All children, with the exception of nursery, should arrive in school uniform, this includes PE days and Forest School kit.  On PE days children are able to wear their school PE T shirt, jumper and shorts or leggings.  Can we also remind all families to make their meal choices for the summer term, meals need to be booked in advance to support food ordering.

All before and after school clubs will finish this week.  We are currently putting our offer together for the summer term.  These will be advertised during the first week back and commence from Tuesday 3rd May.  Before school dance and PE will continue.

Finally, I would like to wish you all a lovely break with your families and look forward to seeing you on Monday 25th April.  I have provided details of a few family activities below.

Wishing you all a relaxing and enjoyable holiday

Mrs Silk
