The main news of the week from my perspective comes two fold. Firstly, as we passed the milestone of 100,000 people’s deaths from Covid 19, I want to send my condolences and sympathy to those within our school community that have lost loved ones, friends or neighbours.
Secondly, the Prime Minister’s announcement on Wednesday, reads…
“The Prime Minister has announced that it will not be possible to resume face-to-face learning immediately after the February half-term and instead hopes it will be safe to commence the re-opening of schools and colleges from Monday 8 March. This is in response to the national public health data and pressure on NHS capacity.”
I had hoped to welcome everyone back sooner, but at least we now have a date that gives us some light at the end of the tunnel. With 4 more weeks of home learning in sight, the small group addition to Microsoft Teams is proving helpful to a number of children and my thanks go to Nursery staff for working to establish ‘live’ sessions with our youngest pupils. Again, I encourage everyone to do only what you can reasonably manage. Your wellbeing is important and the staff will continue to make regular welfare calls to check in with everyone.
Stay safe and stay strong,
Best wishes,
Mr Fell
