What an exciting week!

This week we finally managed to open our Trim Trail.  Children across school have loved trying out the new equipment and demonstrated great balance and co-ordination in tackling some of the trickier obstacles.  Likewise, our reception children have finally been able to access the reception garden, we hope to have the final work completed as soon as possible to enable them to explore our new sand pit and water area.  We would like to take this opportunity to thank families for their patience and understanding during our recent building works

Our assemblies this week have continued to focus on our core value of Respect.  This week we have explored the story of Anne Frank, as we mark Holocaust Memorial Day. We are proud of the way our children have responded, recognising injustice and the importance of working together as a community to achieve great things.  We continue to encourage our children to demonstrate respect in all they say and do and have spoken about the importance of speaking up and gaining support when needed.

Following the completion of our building work, we will reopen Breakfast Club from 8 30 on Monday.  Please note classroom doors will now remain closed until 8 45.  Children requiring breakfast provision can access this provision from 8 30 in the hall.  Please note places need to be booked through the App to ensure there is adequate staffing in place.  Flowery Fun remains open from 7 30 for those families in need of earlier provision.

Enquire Learning Trust have asked us to remind all families to ensure all school meals are booked through the My Child at School App.  Unfortunately, we are seeing an increase in food waste and lack of availability of food.  It is essential that all families secure their child’s meal through the app.  Please contact the office if you need support with this.

As we approach the end of our current block of learning we would like to invite all families to our parent communication events.  These will take place in an assembly format with an opportunity to look through your child’s work following the assembly.  This is an important part of our learning journey, enabling the children to retrieve and share their learning.

Finally, we would like to congratulate our Y5/6 football teams for making it through to the Greater Manchester Pokémon Cup Finals. The boys showed great teamwork, skills and determination, finishing in 5th place overall. Whilst our girls team had the opportunity to compete at Manchester United’s famous Cliff training ground, beating off stiff competition to achieve third place.  Well done to all!

Wishing you a lovely and relaxing weekend

Kind regards

Mrs Silk

Parent Mental Health Day – 30th January 2026

Parent Mental Health Day (PMHD) takes place each year on 30th January. Created by Stem4, the day raises awareness of the vital link between parents’ and carers’ mental health and the wellbeing of the whole family. While PMHD is an important date in the calendar, the challenges parents and carers face are year-round. Supporting mental health is key to safeguarding children and promoting family resilience.
