We are really looking forward to seeing you all on Monday.  We hope you have all had a lovely break with your family and friends and looking forward to 2026.

A special mention to the members of staff, pupils and their families who have looked after the farm over the holidays. We have been touched by the generous donations we have received and the animals have definitely enjoyed their special treats!

As we begin the school term, we would like to encourage all families to ensure they have access to our school app. This contains important information regarding important dates and reminders.  Our spring menu has now been launched in the MCAS app.  Please ensure your accounts are up to date and complete your meal orders for the spring term.  If you feel you may be entitled to FSM please check out the link below: https://www.tameside.gov.uk/schoolmeals

Due to the expected weather forecast, please can we ask families to ensure their children are prepared for the cold weather, especially our Y6 pupils who will be embarking on their annual trip to Robinwood. We recommend lots of layers, hats and gloves!

We are currently putting together our after-school club offer, booking will open on Monday the 12th January at 3 15pm, with clubs commencing from Monday 19th January.  We are currently exploring affordable opportunities within the local area, if you are aware of a club that may be willing to offer taster or low cost classes please get in touch.  Our new Flowery Fun club continues to provide wrap around care for those families that require support outside of our normal school day.  A limited number of places remain before and after school.  Please get in touch with the office if you would like to reserve a place.

Unfortunately, prior to the school break, there was a crash that occurred on the school grounds.  Please can we remind families that this access is reserved for disabled drivers and students.  Likewise, can we remind families driving to school to avoid using the Surestart entrance, parking on Zig Zaga or double lines, especially during the upcoming cold spell as this restricts emergency access to site.  We look forward to working together to ensure all children can access school safely.

Finally, please can we ask families to continue accessing the school site via the Y2/3 playground.  Unfortunately, the builders have been hot with some delays but have assured me they will be completing the work as soon as possible.  Alongside the restricted access to our reception classes, there is also currently restricted access to Y1.  Classroom doors will be open from 8 30 to ease congestion on site.

Wishing you a lovely weekend

Mrs Silk
