What a lovely week in school!
This week I have had the pleasure of meeting children across school to share their learning from the autumn term. All children were able to demonstrate great understanding of their key learning, explaining what life was like in the past and how these events have shaped our world today. Over 100 children across school completed our home learning activities and were invited to a special afternoon treat. Well done to all!
This week we had a visit from Junior Parkrun! A volunteer from Hyde Junior Parkrun spoke to KS2 children in assembly about Junior Parkrun and the benefits in taking part. This is a free, community event where you can walk, jog, run, volunteer or spectate 2KM. This event is designed for 4-14 year olds but families and friends of all ages are welcome to come along. These events take place every Sunday morning at 9am with a fun warm up starting at 8:50am. Mr Smith is planning on organising a Flowery Field meet up soon.
As we prepare for the end of term, we would like to draw attention to the many events we have planned in school. These can be found on the school calendar and website. As in previous years, all children will have the chance to join us for Christmas dinner. If you would like your child to join us please book the meal through the app by Monday 1st December. Please note that meal choices will be reduced between Monday 8th December and Thursday 11th to help us facilitate our Christmas Dinners.
Finally, I would like to thank you for your continued support. Following last week’s parents’ evenings, we have seen an increase in children accessing our reading app and TTRS which is making a positive difference in school.
