FROGGY STARS - STRIVE -TEAM - AMBITION - RESILIENCE = SUCCESS
Week – 18.10.24
Yesterday we welcomed visitors from across the Trust, they were struck by the children’s engagement within lessons, their impeccable manners and their enthusiasm for learning. Children across school spoke confidently, they were able to articulate their learning and share what it means to be part of Flowery Field. We are extremely proud of our community and would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support.
Within our wider curriculum, as children come to the end of their current topics, we have seen them applying their science skills to their creations. Y6 used their knowledge of circuits to create Halloween cards with special effects, whilst Y3 applied their learning to their models of the Iron Man. Within other year groups, our children have continued to engage in investigative science and embraced the challenges of our computing curriculum. Check out a selection of this week’s learning on or Facebook page or our Twitter account. Our children are looking forward to our upcoming arts week. Please can we ask all children to bring an old shirt or over-sized t shirt to ensure their uniform remains sparkling clean.
On Wednesday, our Flowery Friends team will be holding their Spooky Spectacular event. At parent’s request we have a range of fun activities taking place, to keep your little people entertained including Hook a Spooky Duck, Pin the tail on the Pumpkin, Halloween Crafts and lots more! There are still a few tickets remaining for the early session, these need to be booked through Pembee.
Following the half term break, our after-school clubs will continue. These continue to take place until the end of November. We still have a few places remaining for our wrap around fun which operates between 7 30 and 5 30. Please speak with the office if you would like to reserve a regular place. On the run up to Christmas, we are also able to offer ad-hoc places but children must be registered and places will need to be booked at least 24 hours in advance.
Finally, we would like to remind parents that Parents’ Evening takes place on Wednesday 6th November. This will be a face to face event to enable you to speak with your child’s teacher and review your child’s progress. Please ensure you have booked your appointment in the MCAS app.
Wishing you an enjoyable and relaxing weekend.
Mrs Claire Silk

ONLINE SAFETY
This week’s video focus on the risks and concerns online. Below you will find links to some common concerns:

Useful Links:
One of the main concerns from parents is related to adult content. Here is a link that will help you to learn a little more, tips to protect your child and how you can deal with it.

Another concern is related to youth produced sexual images (sometimes called sexting). Here you will find some very useful information. In particular I would recommend reading the document ‘Look at Me’. It is quite long but it gives many useful facts, particularly in relation to vulnerable children.
