FROGGY STARS - STRIVE -TEAM - AMBITION - RESILIENCE = SUCCESS
Spring Term Week – 12.05.23
Thank you for your continued support in ensuring your children attend regularly and achieve their full potential.
We are incredibly proud of our Y6 pupils for the resilience they have demonstrated during this week’s SATs. It has been widely reported that this year’s test have been extremely challenging. Despite this, our children have remained positive and supportive of each other. It was lovely to see our Y6 children celebrating the end of their tests with our youngest pupils.
This week our Y5 and 6 pupils have competed in the Off the Block tournament at Hyde High. The children had to participate in a range of sports, of which many were unfamiliar. The children embraced these challenges and managed to gain 1st and 2nd place in the boys and girls tournaments. We are looking forward to our other sporting fixtures and know our children will continue to do well due to the effort they put in.
Following further issues this week, please can I remind parents not to park in the school car park or leave their cars unattended, this is causing significant disruption and preventing us from running the drop off effectively. Likewise, our disabled parents and children are struggling to access our school site. Please can we ask families to park outside of the school grounds and consider using the pedestrian access on Birdcage Walk, (accessed via Lodge Lane or Bennet street) or Main Street. This week has seen significant congestion in the Surestart carpark which poses a significant health and safety risk. It is essential that we ensure emergency vehicles can have access at the start and end of the school day.
As we prepare for the new school year we are currently consulting on our opening times for September. We are looking to increase our offer for all children ensuring we are open for the recommended 32.5 hours. All children will receive a letter regarding our consultation early next week.
Wishing you all a relaxing and enjoyable weekend
Mrs Silk
IMPORTANT NOTICE – HEALTH AND SAFETY
Unfortunately, we are only able to allow disabled access at the end of the day for health and safety reasons. We would ask parents to park outside of the school grounds and walk in. This week has seen significant congestion in the Surestart carpark. It is essential that we ensure emergency vehicles can have access at the start and end of the school day.
IMPORTANT NOTICE – PUBLIC HEALTH ANNOUNCEMENT
