We are extremely excited to announce that we have shortlisted our new pupil leaders.  We have been inundated with applications, with so many pupils committed to improving life at Flowery Field!  We will be announcing our new leaders in next week’s newsletter.

As we mark the end of this terms after-school clubs we would like to celebrate the children’s achievements.  It’s been great to see children developing new skills. Our Flowery choir will be sharing their achievements in next week’s assemblies. As always, we are keen to expand our offer, following the success of our taster sessions from GKR we have managed to secure a taster Morris dancing course from our friends at Mystique.  They are offering a 5-week course starting on Tuesday 25th April 3- 4pm for £12.  Please pick up a form from the office if you are interested.

As you are aware, this week marks the start of Ramadan for our Muslim families.  This is a month of fasting, prayer, reflection, charity, & community. Within our assemblies this week, we have found out more about Ramadan.  We are extremely proud of our older pupils who have been able to share their own experiences.  All classes are currently marking this special time of year, sharing good deeds and completing random acts of kindness.    We will be celebrating these good deeds as part of our Eid Ul-Fitr celebrations.  Our Flowery Friends team will also be holding our first family Eid celebration on Wednesday 26th April.

Following the success of our pupil progress meetings, we are looking forward to sharing our progress reviews during our parents’ evening, which takes place on Wednesday 29th March.  Please note our spring term meetings for Y1-6 will be held virtually.  If you have recently had an appointment to discuss your child’s support plan you do not need to book a further appointment.  All appointments need to be booked through MCAS.  Please contact admin@floweryfield.tameside.sch.uk if you require support in accessing the app.

Finally, we are pleased to announce that our cheerleaders have been selected to take part in a national competition.  They have organised an Easter raffle to help fund this event with lots of amazing prizes.  Raffle tickets are available from the front of school before and after school. All prize winners will be announced on Thursday.

Wishing you all a relaxing and enjoyable weekend

Mrs Silk
