FROGGY STARS - STRIVE -TEAM - AMBITION - RESILIENCE = SUCCESS
03.02.23
This week we have introduced our new books from the Little People, Big Dreams, these support our focus on raising aspirations. We will continue to share these in our assemblies and as part of our wider curriculum. It has been lovely to hear the children sharing their hopes and dreams for the future.
Our current science learning has enabled us to learn a range of skills that will also help prepare them for the future. It was great to welcome visitors from Starchaser who introduced their rocket to the children and spoke about their work in space. Our Year 5 children had the opportunity to take part in a special rocket building workshop to support their current learning about our solar system. In other year groups, children have enjoyed taking part in practical science experiments, planning, investigating and reporting their findings. It is great to see the children’s confidence when sharing their learning with their peers. Well done to all!
We are aware that many of families participate in activities outside of school, the PE team have made a display of the range of opportunities on offer. If anyone has any photos or details of any clubs in the area, please send into school. We are always looking for ways to improve our offer. We are pleased to announce that GKR Karate will be offering a taster course after school on Tuesdays. This will take place from 3-4, starting on Tuesday 14th February. The cost for the 6 week course will be £15 which will include a training t shirt. At the end of the course the children will be awarded their first karate grading (9th Kyu). If you would like your child to attend, please ask them to collect a letter from the school office.
Finally, I would like to thank you for your support during our school closure for Industrial Action. As you are aware the NEU (Teacher Union) have announced a series of strikes. The next strike is scheduled to takes place on Tuesday 28th February. We await further instruction regarding this and will update as soon as possible.
Wishing you all an enjoyable and relaxing weekend
Mrs Silk
