Last weekend, I had the pleasure of taking our Year 6 children to Robinwood. The children behaved impeccably and were a credit to the school and their families. I am extremely proud of the way the children challenged themselves, pushing themselves out of their comfort zone to tackle new things. We have shared these experiences with our younger pupils during our assemblies, thinking about how we can support each other to overcome our fears.
We finished off the week with our annual had lots of fun watching our annual pantomime. It was lovely to see the children joining in, singing songs and cheering to support Robin Hood and his Merry Men!
Next week, we are looking forward to a visit from Starchaser Industries, who will be bringing their Skybolt 2 rocket! All classes will be visiting the rocket and finding out more. At the end of the day there will be a mini take off on our school playground. Our Year 5 children will be taking part in a special rocket building workshop to support their current learning about our solar system. We look forward to seeing their creations!
Finally, as you are aware the NEU (Teacher Union) have announced a series of strikes. The first of which takes place on Wednesday 1st February. Unfortunately, due to the significant impact at Flowery Field, I am unable to open safely. REMINDER
Are you in receipt of FSM? School are able to offer a packed lunch to all families in receipt of benefit related school meals on the days of Industrial Action. These need to be ordered by 3pm on Monday and can be collected from 11am on the day of the strike
Chinese New Year
Thank you to those families who have shared photos from their celebrations last weekend. The final event, the illuminated dragon parade, takes place in Manchester this weekend. This will take place in Piccadilly gardens at 5pm.
