FROGGY STARS - STRIVE -TEAM - AMBITION - RESILIENCE = SUCCESS
Week – 18.11.22
We are extremely grateful for your support with this year’s Children in Need event and have raised over £600. This money will make a huge difference to improving the lives of others. Pudsey will be making a return visit to enable us to hand over our donation. Well done to you all!
As we approach Christmas, we are aware of growing need within our community and are keen to help those families who may be experiencing difficulty. School can arrange practical support to help you at this time. Please contact a member of the pastoral team if you require support.
Our learning continues to be shared via our school website, Twitter and Facebook pages. the Facebook pages to enable you to share in your children’s successes.
Within our assemblies, we have focused on anti-bullying, the children have explored different forms of bullying and why it is important to speak out. At Flowery Field, we encourage children to celebrate differences, our curriculum offer ensures children have the opportunity to share what is special about them and their families. Through our curriculum children are introduced to different cultures, religions and practices from around the world. We are extremely proud of the way our children approach these areas of the curriculum, demonstrating sensitivity and respect.
Finally, as you may be aware the Hyde Christmas Lights Switch on takes place on Saturday 26th November. As part of these celebrations there will be a lantern parade from 4 15 – 5pm.
Wishing you all a lovely and relaxing weekend,
Mrs Silk
ANNOUNCEMENT - Supporting local people in need this Christmas
The Tameside Toy Appeal and local food banks appeal is running again this year as we head towards Christmas. Your support for local children, families and individuals who are suffering severe financial hardship is needed more than ever this year. There are collection points at every Tameside library and children’s centre. The toy appeal accepts new, unwrapped gifts for babies up to 18-year-olds. They are always particularly short of gifts for babies and teenagers – especially boys.
Items needed for foodbanks include tea, coffee, long life milk, long life fruit juice or cordial, tinned meat and fish, tinned potatoes and veg, instant mashed potato, biscuits, tinned fruit, tinned custard and rice pudding, Christmas food items, nappies and formula.
The deadline for donations to the toy appeal is Friday 9 December, while the deadline for donations to foodbanks is Monday 12 December.
