FROGGY STARS - STRIVE -TEAM - AMBITION - RESILIENCE = SUCCESS
Week – 23/9/22
Firstly, I would like to thank those families who supported our Sandwich Angels Event after school. I am extremely grateful to the families who organised this event, providing lots of delicious treats for such a worthwhile cause. We will be holding a non-uniform day next Friday to provide further resource to Sandwich Angels. We would ask families to donate non-perishable goods or make a small financial donation. This support will help may families within our local community.
This week we have embraced our new learning challenges. We have seen lots of great science learning in school. Our younger pupils have proved themselves to be great scientists, making observations of their environment and classifying objects. Within Key Stage 2, children have been applying their science knowledge to plan and conduct their own experiments, Check out our photos on our Twitter feed and social media to see this week’s learning.
Our assemblies this week have focused on Respect, the children have had time to reflect on what respect means and the way in which we demonstrate it within school and the community. The children have explored different roles within the community and the importance of showing respect to those we meet, especially those who may have different thoughts or beliefs.
It has been great to welcome members of the community into school for our ESOL classes. We are extremely grateful for the support from Diversity Matters North West who have provided this support and look forward to working alongside them to strengthen links within our community. Our Flowery Friends group will be meeting on Monday 26th September at 6pm if you would like to get more involved in our community events.
Please can we remind parents that no parking is available within the school grounds. Unfortunately, there has been a further accident within the school grounds. Please be respectful of our disabled families and other members who require support. Please use the designated drop off zone at the start of the school day. There are lots of friendly faces around to welcome your child and escort them to class.
Finally, please can we remind everyone to ensure they have access to My Child at School App. It is essential that you order your child’s meals in advance to ensure they get their preferred option. You will also need to ensure push notifications are on. Important updates are also sent through the app. Please see the office if you need support in accessing the app.
Wishing you an enjoyable and relaxing weekend
Mrs Claire Silk
