Summer Term Week 8 -01.7.22
During our training day today, we have taken time to reflect and appreciate how far the children have come this year. We are incredibly proud of their achievements, both within and outside of the classroom and extremely grateful for your support and encouragement, in helping your child achieve their full potential.
Before and After School Clubs
Well done to all those children that have attended our before and after school clubs. All after school clubs have now ended and will recommence in September. Before school club will continue to run as normal until the end of theschool year to facilitate working parents.
Transition
All children should have come home with a letter regarding our transition arrangements for September, the children are looking forward to meeting their new teacher and will have opportunity to engage in transition activities prior to the end of term. We are pleased to welcome Ms Foulger and Mr Atkinson back to Flowery Field, alongside Ms Warden and Ms Johnson who will be joining the team from September.
Parent Involvement
Our Summer fayre takes place on Sunday 17th July between 11 and 2. We are extremely grateful to the Flowery Friends team who have organised this event, ensuring that there will be lots of fun activities for all! However we are still in desperate need of volunteers. If you are able to help please speak to a member of staff at the drop off point.
We are always looking at ways to strengthen our community and would welcome any ideas you may have. It would be great to share families' own cultures and traditions as part of this work. Please email admin@floweryfield.tameside.sch.uk if you would like to get involved.
Eid Ul Adha
As part of our current learning, we have been finding out about different religions. Our younger pupils have been exploring special places, whilst our older pupils have been reflecting on how people express their faith through their actions.
The children have been keen to find out more about the special events that take place. As part of this work we will be exploring Eid Ul Adha, which takes place next Saturday. We would like to wish all those celebrating, Eid Mubarak! On Monday 11th July, we will have a day of celebration to mark Eid Ul Adha. Children are invited to come in their own clothes to celebrate with their friends.
As part of our celebrations, we would like to help those families impacted by the flooding in Bangladesh. The children have come up with lots of ideas to help raise funds. We have decided to hold a cake sale after school on Monday 11th. All donations welcome!
Wishing you all a relaxing and enjoyable weekend.
