Spring Term Week 6 – 11.2.22
Firstly, I would like to thank you for your support with children’s mental health week. It is vital that we continue to raise awareness, ensuring all our children are able to talk about their feelings and know where they can get help. Our Inside Out Day was an important reminder that no one knows how a person is feeling on the inside.
This week, we have been focusing on challenging ourselves within school. We have seen children striving in all areas of the curriculum, trying new skills and tackling tricky challenges. We are extremely proud of how well our children have managed their emotions when tackling new areas of learning.
A special mention to our Y5 children who have participated in Bikeability. Over the course of 2 days the children have developed their confidence, enabling them to apply their cycling skills to more challenging situations, with many venturing on to the roads for the first time. We recognise that cycling can also support children’s physical and emotional wellbeing. If anyone would like to develop their cycling skills please click on the link to find out more https://www.activetameside.com/activity/cycle-circuit/.
Finally, we are pleased to announce that we will be able to recommence our before and after school clubs after half term. We recognise how important these activities can be in supporting children’s social and emotional mental health. Places can be booked through the MCAS app from Monday.
Wishing you an enjoyable and relaxing weekend
Mrs Silk
SCHOOL MEALS COMPETITION
Our new menu will be launched after half term, this is now live on our website and in the app. Please can we encourage all families to discuss the menu with their child and make selections for the first week back (28th Feb).
We are currently running a competition to encourage pre-booking. The class that have selected the most menu choices by Monday 14th Feb will have the opportunity to sample the new menu choices during the last week of the half term.
FARM FRIDAY
On Friday we are inviting children to come in their own clothes to help raise money for our school farm. We are hoping to raise enough money to continue to improve our farm. We have already installed cameras following a spate of anti-social behaviour. We know how important the farm is to our community and would encourage you to visit the animals before and after school.
