Spring Term Week 1– 3.1.21
We are really looking forward to the start of the spring term. As planned, children return on Thursday 6th January at 8 50. School will be closed to all pupils on Tuesday 4th and Wed 5th as we prepare for the new term.
We are pleased to announce some new additions to our team: Ms Platt (who has been supporting our Y2 team), Mr Chattington (our new sports coach), Mrs Rowley (Y2 Teaching Assistant) and Mr Chadwick (SEMH support), Mrs Begum (Midday) and Ms Horn (Kitchen team). We are also pleased to announce that Mrs Bown will be returning following her maternity leave.
We hope to be able to recommence our Forest School provision and reopen our before and after school provision from Monday 10th. We will monitor the situation closely and will update via our weekly newsletter.
Wishing you all a healthy, happy and prosperous New Year.

COVID UPDATE
Over the holidays, we have become aware of a large number of cases within our community, whilst many of these cases are now on the road to recovery we are aware of several children and members of staff who will be unable to return to school as planned. Please contact school by email : admin@floweryfield.tameside.sch.uk if this applies to you.
Although children are not required to isolate, all those identified as a close contact are advised to take a lateral flow Covid test each day for 7 days at home. If they test negative each day they can come into school. If they test positive they will need to isolate and obtain a confirmatory PCR test. This applies to all cases of Coronavirus including Omicron.
To reduce the risk of transmission we would ask for support with the following:
- Consider wearing a face covering on school premises.
- Reduce the number of adults and older siblings at drop off and pick up.
- Contact via the office by telephone or email.
Uniform
We understand that some families may require support with school uniform, especially PE kit. Our pastoral team have a small amount of supplies for those who require it. Please speak to a member of staff at drop off.
Communication
We continue to work hard to ensure all families receive regular updates, these are also posted on the website and Facebook page. If you have not received any text messages please email admin@floweryfield.tameside.sch.uk
Parking
Many thanks for your support with the drop off during the morning. Unfortunately, school pick up remains difficult due to the volume of traffic at this time. Please can you ensure that cars are not left unattended in the drop off zone, members of staff will support you in ensuring that younger children are brought to you. Please remind older pupils to come down to the office to meet you.
School Meals/Payments
The problems within the app have now been rectified. Please order your child’s meals for the first half term. Menu choices may change after half term.
