Reflections on week 22
At last, we have a confirmed date for the full reopening of school. I am sure that you are as pleased as I am that we can take this important step back towards normality.
On Monday 8th March, we will revert to school A, B and C arrangements for drop off and collection and further details and reminders will come out next week. I will also reconfirm all other arrangements that will be in place as part of our Covid risk assessment. (There is a link to this document from the home page of our website.)
I again send my thanks and admiration for how well you have all managed to engage with our ‘home learning’, with all parents winning a gold star for what you have achieved. I hope that next week will be the last time that we have to teach in this way and everyone can help to ensure this is the case by taking all the necessary precautions to keep infection rates down. It remains important that should your child display any signs of being unwell they stay at home and take a test as soon as possible.
To celebrate both World Book Day and the end of ‘home learning’, we are having a themed day on Friday 5th March – “The Masked Reader”. Various members of staff have filmed themselves reading a storybook and have disguised their identities with either clever technology or creative costumes. Each video ends with a challenge for the children to complete and these are suitable for families to work on together if preferred.
The Flowery Friends PTFA group are holding a meeting on Monday 1st at 6.30pm via ‘Zoom’ and would love to see as many parents as possible and welcome any new faces. (The link is available on the PTFA Facebook page.)
Stay safe and I look forward to welcoming everyone back soon!
Best wishes,
Mr Fell
