Reflections on week 9

It’s been great to welcome everyone back after half term. I also want to thank everyone for their support with the Test and Trace system during the holiday and your actions to keep us all safe and the school open. Thanks also to everyone for your support with the Trust’s requirement for face coverings and for your help with ensuring that we can have social distancing on the school site.

Over 90% of families have used our online booking system for Parents’ Evening Consultations. (Thanks to Mr Smith for sorting this technology.) These challenging times mean we have to “think again” about many features of the school year and how we can deliver them. With this in mind, Mr Greenaway and the year 2 team are already planning for this year’s nativity, which we will share with you as an i-movie.

All classes have launched into our history topics, but the videos of our arts week are still available for you to enjoy online. Thanks for the many appreciative and supportive comments we’ve received.

Forest School sessions are continuing and the sessions with both Reception children and with Year 6 really made the most of today’s Autumnal sunshine to get “up close and personal” with nature.

Finally, I’m delighted to announce that our Interactive Immersive Classroom is finally up and running and classes are beginning to use it to extend lessons and provide learning opportunities that were previously not possible. All children will get this opportunity over the coming weeks and, as the staff become more skilled in its use, we will embed it further into our practice and approaches.

Have an enjoyable and safe weekend,

best wishes

Mr Fell
