Firstly, I would like to thank you all for your support over the last few weeks. We continue to be touched by the kindness within our community. Following our collection in memory of Lila, we are pleased to announce that we raised £125.70. We understand that many families have sent their donations direct to the charity. On behalf of Lila’s family, I would like to thank you for your kindness shown at this time.
Over the last 2 weeks we have welcomed visitors from other schools across our Trust, they have commented on the children’s excellent learning behaviours, their engagement in lessons and standards within our books. Our visitors also had the opportunity to share in our OPAL journey, they observed children hanging upside down in trees, children embracing the muddy castle, balancing on tyres and much more! We are extremely grateful to Mr G and Mrs Mercer who oversee this provision.
Next week is children’s mental health week in school, as part of our celebrations our Flowery Friends team will be hosting a family ‘love yourself Disco’. This is a chance for children to spend time with their friends socially and allows families the chance to get to know each other. Places need to be booked through Flowery Field PTFA (pembee.app). Throughout the week, children will be completing a range of activities to explore their emotions, ensuring all our children are able to talk about their feelings and know where they can get help. Our pastoral team continue to offer support before school and throughout the school day. They offer a drop in during unstructured times to ensure support is readily available.
As we prepare for the half term break, we are pleased to announce that the council have once again agreed to provide vouchers for those families that are in receipt of benefit related school meals. These will be delivered via email at the start of next week. You can check entitlement at: https://www.tameside.gov.uk/schoolmeals
To mark children’s mental health week, we are inviting children to add something yellow to their uniform on Friday. During the day, we will be encouraging children to make someone smile.
Wishing you all an enjoyable and relaxing weekend
Mrs Silk

Can you help?
We are currently collecting plastic milk bottle tops to help Yorkshire Cancer Research in memory of a colleague from Enquire Learning Trust. These can be any colour and will be recycled by the charity and then made into plastic playground equipment, garden furniture and children’s toys. Given the size of our school I’m hopeful that we can help.
