FROGGY STARS - STRIVE -TEAM - AMBITION - RESILIENCE = SUCCESS
Week – 20.10.23
Firstly, I would like to thank those parents that attended our parents’ evenings. We are extremely proud of the progress that they have made across the curriculum. I’m sure you will agree that the presentation within books, reflects the effort they have put in. We continue to encourage children to practise their skills at home through our E-Collins books, TTRS and Ed Shed. During our assemblies we reflect on our home learning and share each classes success.
On behalf of Sandwich Angels, I would like to thank the families that supported the after-school food sale on Friday. We raised an amazing £269.00 which will be used to provide winter clothing to members of our community. We are extremely lucky to have such a talented cook within our parent community and grateful for her giving up her time to provide such tasty treats for such a worthwhile cause.
During half term, there are a range of free events available at Chadwick Dam in Ashton, including Bat watching, foraging and apples and alchemy. Portland basin also offer a range of art activities for a small charge. Check out the link with today’s newsletter for more details.
Our before and after school clubs continue until the end of November, if your child no longer wishes to attend, please let the office know so the place can be offered to those on the waiting list. We also have chess available from 6 15 -8pm on a Monday evening and Ignite sports Club that runs between 6 and 8pm. Both clubs are provided by an external provider and therefore small charges apply. Please speak to a member of staff on the drop off for more details.
Following the half term break, we will be holding our first celebration assembly, with our Froggy Mascot. Each half term, we will select a small group of children for our special Froggy STAR awards. Parents of those nominated are invited into school. Please note all children will receive our special awards by the end of the school year.
Wishing you an enjoyable and relaxing half term.
Mrs Claire Silk
