FROGGY STARS - STRIVE -TEAM - AMBITION - RESILIENCE = SUCCESS
FROGGY STARS NEWSLETTER - 17.02.23
Firstly, I would like to thank you for your amazing donations for both the Earthquake Appeal and Sandwich Angels. We have raised an amazing £671.57 to help those affected by the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria. This money will provide much needed aid through The British Red Cross. Likewise, your generous food donations and the money received from our after-school food sale have provided much needed support to families within our community. We are overwhelmed by the level of generosity and compassion shown from all at Flowery Field.
This week the children have had the opportunity to take part in a range of creative activities as part of our art’s week. Within EYFS, children have been inspired by a range of illustrators, developing their fine motor skills to create some amazing monsters! Children across Key Stage 1 and 2 have studied the work of a plethora of artists, developing their skills in painting, sketching, cutting, sewing, printing, textiles and sculpture. Special mention to our Year 2 children who were inspired by the work of Megan Coyle and had the opportunity to share this via Twitter. Our projects link to children’s prior and future learning in Geography and History. Check out some of our work on our Facebook page.
Following the half term break we are looking forward to celebrating World Book Day. This year, we are inviting children to wear their favourite PJs, bring their favourite book to share with their friends. Cuddly friends are welcome too! All children should have received a letter, inviting them to take part in a range of reading activities over half term. It would be great if children could share these challenges over half term to inspire others to develop their love of books too!
Finally, as you are aware the NEU (Teacher Union) have announced a series of strikes. The next day of Industrial Action takes place on Tuesday 28th February. Unfortunately, due to the significant impact at Flowery Field, I am unable to open safely. Please click on the link below for further details: https://floweryfieldschool.org.uk/news/2023-02-19-strike-update-feb-2023
Wishing you all a relaxing and enjoyable half term.
