Week – 16/9/22

Another great week in school!

Firstly, thank you for your support in helping your children settle into school.  We are extremely grateful for your support in ensuring your children arrive on time and are ready to learn.  Our school motto “Only My Best is Good enough!” is evident throughout school.  Each week we celebrate our achievements and the key learning behaviours demonstrated within school.  Check out our photos on our Twitter feed and social media to see this week’s learning.  Children are welcome to bring in things from within the community to share in assembly.

Our assemblies this week have focused on celebrating the life of Queen Elizabeth II, the children have had time to reflect on events in the News and have been introduced to key members of the Royal Family.  As part of this work, the children have learnt the wrds t the National Anthem.  We are extremely proud of the respect shown by all children within school.  Please note, school will remain closed on Monday 19th September as this day has been declared a bank holiday.

This week, we have also launched our morning clubs within school.  It is great to see how many children accessing this provision.  Please can we remind families to use the hall doors to access PE and dance provision. This provision is only available for children in years 1-6. All other clubs need to sign in at the office. Our after school clubs start on Monday, limited places are still available in the app.

We have been asked to remind parents that we are not able to use the Flowery Centre’s car park.  Unfortunately, this area is very congested which prevents emergency access to both buildings.  Please remember that school has a designated drop off area in a morning to help ease the problems with traffic.  There are lots of friendly faces around to welcome your child and escort them to class but we do ask that cars are not left unattended.

This week, we have also welcomed back our farm animals.  It is great to see our farm club back in action caring for the animals.  We would encourage all families to visit the farm before or after school.  Special mention to Mr Fell who helped transport the animals back to Flowery!

Finally, please can we remind everyone to download the My Child at School App.  You will also need to ensure push notifications are on.  This will enable you to select your child’s lunch, check attendance and book on after school clubs.  Important updates are also sent through the app.  Please see the office if you need support in accessing the app.

Wishing you an enjoyable and relaxing weekend
