Reflections on week 24

It has been wonderful to have the school full once more and see everyone’s faces and smiles around the place. I cannot praise the staff enough for the work done this week to ensure everyone ‘hit the ground running’ and I’ve been hugely impressed by how ‘up for it’ all the children have been. Parents and carers can be rightly proud of how well you have all managed this latest lockdown and by how well you’ve managed the return to classrooms and school routines.

Next week, we are taking the next step on the journey back to ‘normal’. Getting everyone into class as safely as possible without causing too many crowds is a challenge we can achieve if everyone arrives promptly (not early), keeps apart and acts with consideration to each other. Condensing the start and finish times will bring more people on site together. It is more important than ever to wear face coverings and practise social distancing. The benefits will be more focused teaching time for the children every day.

Next Friday, 19th March, is Red Nose Day. We invite children to wear their own clothes or even dress up and show-off their red noses, in return for a donation to this charity.

On the last day before the Easter break, April 1st, we are serving some of the children’s lunchtime favourites and chocolate ‘Easter Nests’. If your child usually has a packed lunch and wishes to have this meal instead, please send the order form back into school next week.

Finally, I hope you enjoy your Mothers’ Day treats that the children have been preparing and my thanks go to the Flowery Friends PTFA for their help with these.

Stay safe and enjoy the weekend

Best wishes

Mr Fell
