Reflection on week 13

Although “Lockdown 2” has ended and we have moved into the new tier 3, the need to maintain social distancing, especially at classroom drop off points, is still there. Please also continue to wear face coverings on site.

The number of children with conditions that may be Covid (but might be many other things besides) is increasing. I am grateful to the many parents adopting a ‘safety first’ approach and getting their children tested.

The PTFA have put a lot of thought and effort into creating their ‘Elf trail’. I hope that families have an opportunity to get ‘out and about’ this weekend whilst completing this challenge. There are prizes for all participants and the closing date is Monday 14th December. Please also support the PTFA’s Grand Christmas Raffle – all proceeds are going towards our Christmas activities in school.

Year 4, 5 and 6 have successfully trailed ‘Doodlemaths’ and we are planning to roll this out soon to other year groups.

I hope that you are enjoying the Christmas song Advent Calendar that Mr Greenaway is posting each day whilst his class is self-isolating. The links are on our twitter feed and on the PTFA Facebook page – singing together is an activity that families can do in these restricted times – and it’s free!

The donations for the local foodbank were generous in the extreme – thanks again for your help. Please can I ask any families that need support to contact us in confidence. Help is available and you can contact our team via Facebook message, with an email, by giving us a ring or by talking to the staff on duty at the front of school each morning and afternoon.

Have a safe weekend and try and keep warm

Best wishes

Mr Fell
