We continue to make preparations in case the Government closes all schools. The teachers are setting up "distance learning" options for each age group. These obviously vary according to the age of the children. For the older children, we will use 'Microsoft teams' and have begun issuing each child with the required email address and have begun explaining to the children how the system will work. At this stage there is nothing else required from parents. Full guidance will be provided if we need to deploy this option.
This week, school is open as usual and the teaching staff are concentrating upon teaching their classes. If school closes, the teachers will change their focus to the "distance learning" option and will be providing work as required.
To assist with these preparations, I am ending all after school clubs with immediate effect, (ie from Tuesday onward) however, the 8am before-school clubs are continuing for the time being.
Rainbows childcare remains open as usual.
In the meantime, a small number of children meet the criteria for self isolation. For these children, school will send a pack home of the work prepared for classroom use for this week. We are not in a position to send packs to children who do not meet the criteria and who should be attending school.
